For those of you who have been living under a rock, E3 is the biggest week in gaming, as all the big names show off what they have planned for the year ahead.<\/p>\n<p>With the event being so big, there is quite a\u00a0lot of pressure involved in pulling off a great show, and\u00a0things are bound to go wrong. Here are the moments that we will never forget:<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3 class=\"my-4\">Best E3 Year &#8211; 2013<\/h3>\n<p>The year is 2013, the new generation of gaming has already been announced, and we are patiently anticipating all the games and news following the announcements.<\/p>\n<p>2013 was a great year for E3, as we were all waiting for the big selling item which would\u00a0push us out of the house to buy our console of choice. Sony had the PS4 and Microsoft had the Xbox One, and these two new consoles meant that PC gaming would be taking a turn into the future too.<\/p>\n<p>There is nothing else like a new generation of hardware, and E3 2013 meant that all the big giants had awesome games to gawk at. Even Nintendo brought it when they held their Nintendo Direct, as they announced Super Smash Bros, showed off some Bayonetta 2 gameplay, and the new Pokemon X and Y.<\/p>\n<p>2013 makes my best E3 year, as it was darn exciting. The PS4 got a release date, and we knew what Microsoft had up their sleeve for day one. Exciting year indeed.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"PS4 console revealed (E3 2013 Playstation 4 Sony Press Conference) HD\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/4GukdcoxpIA?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3 class=\"my-4\">Most awkward press conference &#8211; Konami 2010<\/h3>\n<p>This is tough one, as every year there is a\u00a0press conference which leaves us all feeling a little stupid.<\/p>\n<p>Some of them might have awkward moments, like EA&#8217;s Sims dance party on stage, and Nintendo&#8217;s awkward orchestra-backed Zelda throwback, but if anything still haunts me today, it is\u00a0that one Konami conference.<\/p>\n<p>The year is 2010, and we are all going mad\u00a0for the FIFA World Cup. Konami however, have been tripping on something else, which was clear in their press conference at E3 that year.<\/p>\n<p>From the start it was just awkward, as speakers and well-known industry influencers made their way to the stage and made a complete mockery of the event.<\/p>\n<p>From awkward announcements which were forced upon the crowd, to out of this world scripted stage shows which just fell flat.<\/p>\n<p>Everything about the conference was just horrible, and we are so thankful that Konami have stayed away from hosting their own conference for a while now.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"E3 2010 Konami Press Conference Highlights\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/f6OCnvvkSLM?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3 class=\"my-4\">Biggest Shocker &#8211; Call of Duty now at Sony<\/h3>\n<p>We all know how it goes, big publishers sign massive deals with Microsoft and Sony to make\u00a0their game release a priority, we have seen it with Destiny on the PS4, and Call of Duty on the Xbox One.<\/p>\n<p>In 2015, one of the biggest partnerships in gaming history came to an end when Activision announced on the E3 stage that they will be partnering with Sony to release Call of Duty: Black Ops III on the PS4 with prioritized DLC.<\/p>\n<p>Regardless of how great this news was for some, the fact that Microsoft lost a contract that had been running since the original Call of Duty: Modern Warfare was the big shock here.<\/p>\n<p>For the past 9 years, every Call of Duty released and had its DLC release on a Microsoft platform 30 days before PC and Sony.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"PlayStation E3 2015 Moment: Call of Duty: Black Ops III | PS4, PS3\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/LDxkRwLiMsA?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3 class=\"my-4\">Biggest Disappointment &#8211; PlayStation 3 Price Tag<\/h3>\n<p>As exciting as a new generation of consoles sounds, not all of them are well received, cue the PS3 reveal of 2006.<\/p>\n<p>The PlayStation 2 had been a huge success, so much so that it changed console gaming forever, so Sony had big shoes to fill with their PlayStation 3 &#8211; which unfortunately did not go as well as they hoped.<\/p>\n<p>In 2006, Sony went on stage to announce that the PS3 would be releasing world-wide by March 2007, at the starting price of <strong>$499<\/strong> for the 20Gb model and <strong>$599<\/strong> for the 60Gb model. That is double the price of the PS4.<\/p>\n<p>The world went crazy at the insane price tag of the console, as for its day, it was extremely high. The PS3 launched in SA that year for R6299, which was three times the price of the PS2.<\/p>\n<p>Sure, the PS3 gained momentum over the years, but it took Sony a long time to fix the damage that was caused by its insane price tag announcement.<\/p>\n<p>https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=IH2w2l1JTs4<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3 class=\"my-4\">Most Ridiculous Decision &#8211; Stick to Xbox 360<\/h3>\n<p>After the announcement of the Xbox One, Microsoft took some heat when announcing that the console is always on and required a constant internet connection to use the device. At E3 they stuck to their guns and still went with the always-on feature.<\/p>\n<p>When asked about the feature in an interview with don Mattrick, he said the unspeakable. Don went on to defend the always-on feature and tell gamers that if they do not have access to the internet, Microsoft has a console for you, and its called the Xbox 360.<\/p>\n<p>It\u00a0is one thing to beat around the bush and make consumers aware of the drawbacks of the console, but to blatantly marginalise your own customers is just damn wrong.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Don Mattrick  No Internet?
