Crytek CEO Cevat Cerli is feeling pretty confident about Crysis 2’s 3D features. Talking to Edge magazine, he says that,<\/p>\n
“There was one project we developed exclusively in stereoscopic 3D – and we started that two-and-a half years ago. It was designed to be only possible in 3D, so we asked what it’d take to make that.”<\/p>\n
Introducing – dramatic drum-roll – Crysis 2.<\/p>\n
“So we’ve done a lot of research into 3D experiences, the UI and whatnot,” he goes on. “And a lot of this knowledge is now in the Crysis 2 3D experience. That’s why we have, in my opinion, a benchmark 3D implementation.”<\/p>\n
And not just any old benchmark 3D implementation, mind you, but one that’s on par with James Cameron’s 3D love-in, Avatar. James Cameron has magic laser eyes that are genetically enhanced for 3D appreciation, and he also likes Crysis 2.<\/p>\n
“I’ll even claim it’s the same as Avatar’s status in 3D. James Cameron has seen Crysis 2,” says Yerli, “and he loved what he saw because his eyes are trained for 3D more than anyone else’s, and that makes me confident that we have a super-high-end 3D experience on all formats.”<\/p>\n
I’m sure the two people who’ve invested thousands in a 3D TV set will be absolutely thrilled.<\/p>\n
