Telkom has confirmed that the company is prepared to remove line rental costs from its household ADSL offerings.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Business Day TV, Telkom CEO Sipho Maseko confirmed that this was due to a shift in the manner in which Telkom was thinking about its products:<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is less about lines, and more about the service.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cVery soon, in your own household, your bill will no longer have ‘line’. It will just be a package of 25GB or 50GB, which will be priced as a service,\u201d said Maseko.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere will not be an itemized line item called line rental on your bill.\u201d<\/p>\n

There has been no official confirmation as to when these changes will take effect.<\/p>\n
