According to the guys over on the Xbox Scene forums<\/a>, pirated copies of a bunch of games including Call of Duty: Black Ops, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, and Halo: Reach are no longer working. It appears, however, that some games are entirely unaffected, and that Microsoft is simply focussing on the most popular Xbox LIVE multiplayer titles.<\/p>\n It’s not likely to keep pirates at bay for very long, as the modding scene tends to mobilise and update its own firmware pretty quickly in response to new anti-piracy lockouts, but it’s perhaps just a bit of corporate posturing. Recent reports of Modern Warfare 2 hacking on PS3<\/a> has prompted a response from developer Infinity Ward that Sony is responsible for resolving system-level issues.
