A group of middle-eastern Twitter trolls are using the social platform to report women who are reportedly atheist and\/or pro LGBT to the authorities, reports The Daily Beast<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In strict muslim countries such as Kuwait, punishments for such crimes can be as severe as death.<\/p>\n

There also appears to be no end in site for the women who are being doxxed, with claims that Twitter is\u00a0offering no help whatsoever.<\/p>\n

\u201cTwitter is absolutely useless. They don\u2019t take this sort of thing seriously,\u201d said a woman who asked to remain anonymous. \u201cI don\u2019t know what the solution is.\u201d<\/p>\n

Last year, Twitter\u2019s CEO made reining in abuse a priority for the social network<\/a><\/strong> and expanded its safety team to act against accounts that broke\u00a0the rules.<\/p>\n

In February, the company hired a group of experts to launch the Twitter Trust & Safety Council<\/a><\/strong>, which would \u201cprovide more tools and policies\u201d to \u201cexpress themselves freely and safely on Twitter.\u201d<\/p>\n
