MyGaming recently published the latest speed test results from MyBroadband<\/strong><\/a> which showed that Cybersmart and MWEB offer the lowest average latency on ADSL and VDSL.<\/p>\n

Other Internet service providers (ISPs) that performed well in terms of average latency included Internet Solutions, Telkom, Afrihost, and Axxess.<\/p>\n

Previously we compared the bundle offerings of these Internet service providers<\/strong><\/a>, using Crystal Web and Webafrica as examples of service providers on Internet Solutions.<\/p>\n

This time we look at their stand-alone accounts.<\/p>\n

Although the bundled deals may work out cheaper overall, some of you might get your line directly through Telkom to give yourself more freedom to move between ISPs.<\/p>\n

It should be noted that Webafrica recommends its capped accounts for gaming, as well as a minimum speed of 8Mbps.<\/p>\n

While capped accounts will arguably offer the best performance for gamers, there are uncapped DSL accounts which promise good gaming performance too.<\/p>\n

Typically these are the \u201cpremium\u201d or \u201cbusiness\u201d uncapped products of an ISP. MWEB and Telkom were the exception.<\/p>\n

MWEB says that their normal home uncapped bundles are suitable for gaming, while Telkom only offers one type of uncapped account for home usage.<\/p>\n

The table below ranks the ADSL bundles of the ISPs by the price of the bundle per megabit per second of bandwidth received.<\/p>\n

1Mbps and 2Mbps services are excluded, as these are typically not listed as services suitable for gaming.<\/p>\n
