{"id":97176,"date":"2016-06-30T08:25:44","date_gmt":"2016-06-30T06:25:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/?p=97176"},"modified":"2016-06-30T08:26:32","modified_gmt":"2016-06-30T06:26:32","slug":"googles-60-tbps-underwater-fibre-cable-goes-live","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/broadband\/97176-googles-60-tbps-underwater-fibre-cable-goes-live","title":{"rendered":"Google&#8217;s 60 Tbps underwater fibre cable goes live"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The world&#8217;s fastest underwater fibre optic cable goes live on 30 June, reports <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/thenextweb.com\/google\/2016\/06\/30\/google-faster-internet-cable\/\" target=\"_blank\">TNW<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The cable which connects the United States and Japan is reported to have cost <strong>$300 million (R4,469,925,000)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Its aim is to help service providers in Asia and the US meet the increase in broadband traffic, which is expected to increase <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sciencealert.com\/a-giant-internet-cable-connecting-the-us-and-japan-is-about-to-go-live\" target=\"_blank\">four-fold<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFrom the very beginning of the project, we repeatedly said to each other, \u2018faster, Faster and FASTER\u2019, and at one point it became the project name and today it becomes a reality,&#8221;
