{"id":97380,"date":"2016-07-01T07:11:02","date_gmt":"2016-07-01T05:11:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/?p=97380"},"modified":"2016-07-01T07:11:47","modified_gmt":"2016-07-01T05:11:47","slug":"sony-is-making-a-playstation-4-slim-report","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/hardware\/97380-sony-is-making-a-playstation-4-slim-report","title":{"rendered":"Sony is making a PlayStation 4 Slim: report"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sony will release a PlayStation 4 Slim console in addition to the upcoming PlayStation NEO, The Wall Street Journal <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vg247.com\/2016\/07\/01\/sony-may-release-a-ps4-slim-as-well-as-the-ps4-neo-analyst-says\/\" target=\"_blank\">reports<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The rumour comes courtesy of Macquarie Securities analyst Damian Thong, who was extremely guarded\u00a0about what to expect from the new console:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Sony might also introduce a slimmer version of the PlayStation 4, revealing it at a game show in September.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>September is traditionally when the Tokyo Game Show is held, so it would not be completely far-fetched to see a hardware revision announced, especially as the PlayStation NEO is still expected to launch this year.<\/p>\n<p>This new Slim console would then act as a direct competitor to the<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/xbox\/95089-everything-that-happened-at-microsofts-e3-conference-xbox-scorpio-and-slim-cross-platform-exclusives-and-more.html\" target=\"_blank\"> Xbox One S<\/a><\/strong>, which was announced this year&#8217;s E3.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Will you be picking up a PS4 Slim?
