{"id":97652,"date":"2016-07-05T12:37:50","date_gmt":"2016-07-05T10:37:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/?p=97652"},"modified":"2016-07-05T12:40:16","modified_gmt":"2016-07-05T10:40:16","slug":"chinese-developer-invests-2-million-in-ridiculous-overwatch-rip-off","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mygaming.co.za\/news\/pc\/97652-chinese-developer-invests-2-million-in-ridiculous-overwatch-rip-off","title":{"rendered":"Chinese developer invests $2 million in ridiculous Overwatch rip-off"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A Chinese mobile game developer is currently working on a blatant Overwatch rip-off, titled Legend of Titan.<\/p>\n<p>The mobile game features an almost identical array of characters, user-interface and game play mechanics as Blizzard&#8217;s hero shooter.<\/p>\n<p>The developer denied accusations that Legend of Titan was an Overwatch rip-off and issued the following <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/2p.com\/43612630_1\/Overwatch-Rip-off-Dev-Denies-Accusation-Planning-to-Invest-2M-in-the-Project-by-cindyhio.htm\" target=\"_blank\">statement <\/a><\/strong>regarding the accusations:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Legend of Titan is a free to play game, which means it will have essential differences in game plays, game modes and contents when compared with Overwatch.<\/p>\n<p>The only similarity we have with Overwatch probably lies in the fact that our products all blend in FPS + MOBA elements.&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The developer also announced plans to continue investing in the project, stating that it will invest another<a href=\"http:\/\/2p.com\/43612630_1\/Overwatch-Rip-off-Dev-Denies-Accusation-Planning-to-Invest-2M-in-the-Project-by-cindyhio.htm\" target=\"_blank\"><strong> $2 million<\/strong> <\/a>in Legend of Titan.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the striking similarity between the two games, even the title of the conveniently-named &#8220;Legend of Titan&#8221;
