Microsoft has confirmed that it\u2019s taking away some of the complexity in multi-GPU systems, reports Neowin<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

“This will allow developers to take advantage of multiple GPUs on a system with only minimal coding.”<\/p>\n

DirectX 12 has actually allowed users to use any combination of graphics cards since its inception in the form of Explicit Multi Adaptor (EMA)<\/strong> support.<\/p>\n

EMA allows DirectX 12 cards to work together, regardless of their maker and performance.<\/b><\/p>\n

However, in order to make use of the feature, developers had to specifically code for it – meaning it was rarely (if ever) implemented.<\/p>\n

With this new update, Multi-GPU setups could now be a serious alternative for PC gamers, but it’s important to note that it still requires some coding from developers (although not nearly as much as before).<\/p>\n

There is no confirmed release for the new update but expect it some time before the end of the year.<\/p>\n
