Samsung has revealed<\/strong> <\/a>its new UFS memory cards, which are 5\u00a0times faster than regular microSD cards.<\/p>\n

The Universal Flash Storage memory cards are shaped similarly to a standard microSD card, although they will not be compatible with device that only support microSD.<\/p>\n

Samsung’s UFS memory cards will be available in a variety of capacities, including\u00a0256GB<\/strong>, 128GB<\/strong>, 64GB<\/strong> and 32GB<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The memory cards are intended for use in high-intensity mobile storage environments, such as high-resolution video cameras and 3D VR devices.<\/p>\n

The 256GB UFS memory card will offer sequential read\u00a0speeds of up to 530 MB\/s<\/strong>, five times faster than that of a typical microSD card.<\/p>\n

These read speeds rival that of solid state drives, and UFS cards will also offer sequential write speeds of up to 170MB\/s<\/strong> – double that of typical microSD cards.<\/p>\n

Samsung’s UFS memory cards could see wide application across mobile devices, including high-end smartphones.<\/p>\n
