Nvidia’s new GeForce GTX 1070 and 1080 are currently experiencing display port issues, rendering them incompatible with the HTC Vive, reports Tom’s Hardware<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Last week, a friend of mine contacted me looking for help getting his Vive working.<\/p>\n

He was trying to hook the Vive up to a GTX 1080 using the optional Display Port on the HMD’s link box because the HDMI port on his graphics card was being used to display to a TV.<\/p>\n

I knew for a fact that this configuration works with a GTX 980 Ti because I\u2019ve tested it already<\/a><\/strong>. We were both disappointed to find out that it doesn\u2019t work with the 10-series cards.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

There has been no acknowledgement from Nvidia that they are aware of the issue or whether they plan to release a driver update to address it.<\/p>\n

It is also important to note that this issue doesn’t necessarily only affect HTC Vive headsets, and should you wish to use display port technology with your new card, you may want to research your purchase first.<\/p>\n
