A recent study <\/a><\/strong>published by IBM has revealed why Netflix and other streaming subscribers cancel their subscriptions.<\/p>\n

27% of people<\/strong> gave advertisements as the number one reason for cancelling their subscription, 2% more than the next highest – which was pricing (25%)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Sites like Hulu (which feature advertisements prominently) may not have too much to worry about however, with the survey revealing 70% of streaming service subscribers<\/strong> never canceled their subscriptions.<\/p>\n

The main reason streaming services lost subscribers was purely because the attached credit card expired<\/strong>, meaning it could not renew the monthly subscription.<\/p>\n

Netflix remains the least likely to get cancelled<\/strong> of the major services, with Hulu and Amazon seeing a much larger number of total cancellations.<\/p>\n

40% of consumers have stated they have cancelled either Hulu or Amazon, with only 30% having cancelled a Netflix subscription.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
