Windows 10<\/strong> is becoming more popular among PC gamers, probably due to a combination of Microsoft’s aggressive marketing push and the exclusivity of DirectX 12.<\/p>\n

However, a fair proportion of gamers still choose to use the more familiar Windows 7<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

We decided to do some research and find out which of the two Windows operating systems are\u00a0objectively better for gaming.<\/p>\n

Benchmarks<\/h3>\n

The only way to accurately measure a\u00a0difference in\u00a0gaming performance between\u00a0the two operating systems is to find hardware-identical benchmarks.<\/p>\n

Luckily, Techspot <\/a><\/strong>and PCGamer <\/a><\/strong>have both conducted in-depth tests to see\u00a0if a performance difference exists.<\/p>\n

The Verdict<\/h3>\n

The collection of benchmarks above shows no discernible performance\u00a0difference between gaming using Windows 7 or Windows 10.<\/p>\n

According to the above data, gamers should use whatever operating system they prefer, regardless of performance concerns.<\/p>\n

However, it is important to note that DirectX 12, the newest API developed by Microsoft, will be exclusive to Windows 10.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This means that Windows 7 users may miss out on performance improvements\u00a0implemented by the new API.<\/p>\n
