British researchers have made a breakthrough in wearable “invisible technology”, reports Engadget.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

“They have developed<\/a><\/strong> a coating that uses graded refractive index nanocomposite materials to reduce an object’s electromagnetic signatures.”<\/p>\n

In effect, this means they have developed a way for curved surfaces to appear perfectly perfectly flat to electromagnetic detectors.<\/p>\n

Any real-world use is still a ways off, but it wouldn’t just be limited to stealth. It could allow for oddly-shaped antennas or acoustics that work just as effectively as their straight-laced counterparts.<\/p>\n

Cloaking would just be the most dramatic use of a technology that could help in many, many fields.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
