report by <a href=\"http:\/\/arstechnica.com\/tech-policy\/2016\/07\/kickasstorrents-alleged-founder-artem-vaulin-arrested-in-poland\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Ars Technica<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Artem Vaulin of Ukraine has been charged with\u00a0copyright infringement and one count of\u00a0conspiracy to commit money laundering.<\/p>\n<p>Vaulin was arrested on Wednesday in Poland, according to the report, with the US seeking his extradition.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cVaulin is charged with running today\u2019s most visited illegal file-sharing website, responsible for unlawfully distributing well over $1 billion of copyrighted materials,\u201d said Assistant Attorney General Caldwell.<\/p>\n<p>Vaulin relied on servers in several countries for his site to run and moved his domains due to repeated seizures and civil lawsuits.<\/p>\n<p>The report stated that KAT\u2019s annual advertising revenue was more than $16 million per year as of 2016.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"my-4\">Domains seized<\/h3>\n<p>According to a report by <a href=\"https:\/\/torrentfreak.com\/feds-seize-kickasstorrents-domains-charge-owner-160720\/\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>TorrentFreak<\/strong><\/a>,\u00a0a federal court in Chicago has also ordered the seizure of several KAT domain names.<\/p>\n<p>At the time of writing, the primary .cr domain
