Xbox Scorpio vs PS4 Pro – Developer answers which is better at 4K gaming

While the Xbox’s Project Scorpio is over a year way, developers have already had plenty of time with it and the upcoming PS4 Pro.

Naturally, the biggest question has been which has the better-looking 4K games?

Apparently neither, according to José Herráez, of Tequila Softworks, the folks behind the upcoming RIME and The Sexy Brutale.

“I think that [the difference between Scorpio’s native 4K and PS4 Pro’s upscaled 4K won’t be noticeable to the untrained eye,” he said.

“To the mass consumer, as a matter of speaking, I think it won’t make a lot of difference. Of course, to the very technical customer, or one very into the latest technology, it will matter, definitely. But for the mass consumer – and that is where the money is – I don’t think it will be that important.”

That is not what the folks at Microsoft have been saying however – they believe that Project Scorpio’s native 4K resolution will be “obviously” better than the PS4 Pro’s checkered upscaling.
