Microsoft has apologised for a perceived racial slur in its latest Dead Rising 4 promotional email.
The email contained zombies singing Christmas Carols, and the email had the subject line “NNNNGGGHHHAAAA”, reports Kotaku.
It’s clear that the subject was meant to convey the sound a zombie makes, however several gamers pointed out that when saying the word out loud, it sounded like a racial slur.
It was simply a genuine mistake, but credit to Microsoft for acting so quickly.
Today we sent a DR4 email where a zombie roar was interpreted by many as a racial slur. We apologize and promise to do better next time.
