Microsoft has announced that a HD remake of the original Halo: Combat Evolved is being released on 15 November this year.
“The epic game that launched the universe, remastered for a new generation”, is Microsoft’s tagline.
The remake will boast Xbox Live support for campaign co-op as well as regular competitive multiplayer.
Promotional footage suggests that the remake is being developed using the same engine as Halo: Reach. New gameplay features were spotted in the demo code, including an assassination – a feature that was added with Halo: Reach last year.
7 multiplayer maps have been confirmed, all remakes of maps from the original.
It will have been ten years since the original Halo launched when Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary Edition is launched on 15 November 2011.
