So, a bit of new Gears of War 3 gameplay turned up by way of a developer demo during Microsoft’s pre-E3 presser event, and it’s all rather… fishy.

Obviously, third time around is kind of a big deal for Epic Games. They’ve already done collateral damage and euthanasia, so where to next for the series? GIANT FISH, that’s what. See, it’s in capital letters and everything, that’s how huge it is.

Actually, it looks kinda just like the Leviathan from Gears of War 2, only more, you know, Lambenty. The demo also showed off the new Silverback mech suit, which appears to have signed up for double-duty as field cover. The whole thing has a pretty explosive finale too, mostly involving a shipping container full of Tickers – or, basically, Nature’s own hand grenades. Get your eyes popped below.

The game’s due to drop in September, and Microsoft has just yanked the covers off a special Gears of War 3-branded Xbox console in commemoration of all those giant, misunderstood fish out there. We couldn’t save the world without you guys.
