Xbox community manager Larry Hryb (aka Major Nelson) has announced the official reveal date and time for Microsoft’s next generation Xbox – 19.00 SAST, Tuesday, 21 May 2013.
“On that day, we’ll share our vision for Xbox, and give you a real taste of the future. Then, 19-days later at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in Los Angeles, we’ll continue the conversation and showcase our full lineup of blockbuster games,” said Hryb.
The reveal event will be attended by industry press, and live Internet streams of the event will be available through Xbox.com, Xbox LIVE, and broadcast on Spike TV for US and Canada.
Rumours have been swirling for months around the new console, codenamed Durango.
Contentious rumours include always on Internet connection requirements, backwards compatibility with Xbox 360 games, the exact specifications of the hardware powering the console, and of course the official name of the device.
