Harmonix, the studio behind the ultra-popular Guitar Hero and Dance Central series, has announced its next endeavour – Fantasia: Music Evolved.
As the name would suggest, Walt Disney is on board to supply the Fantasia rights to the game, allowing the game to be a modern adaptation of the 1940’s film, which featured a heavy dose of visual and musical elements.
The game is designed for both Xbox One and Xbox 360, and uses the Kinect camera to play.
Players control the music and alter it by reacting and responding to gestures and rhythms on screen, allowing you to change and manipulate sounds and visual elements in-game.
The game also features a freestyle component, allowing gamers to remix tracks by creating new instrument layers by drawing symbols, for example.
The more layers and progression a song gets the more colourful and vivid the visuals become, giving an indication of how “full” your song is.
Fantasia: Music Evolved is scheduled for a 2014 release, but check out the trailer below in the meantime:
