In one of the most unexciting game announcements ever, Cliff Bleszinski told the world via the Late Night with Jimmy Falon show, that Gear of War 3 will be released in April 2011.
It’s not that the announcement itself is unexciting, it’s just that the game was all but confirmed a few days ago.
Firstly, a bunch of details about the game bubbled to the surface last week via Edge Online, and then more rumours appeared that the game will be released in April 2011.
Nothing like an announcement that confirms a predominant rumour to deflate an otherwise awesome piece of news. Bleszinski himself described it as “the worst kept secret in the video game industry.”
The announcement also confirmed that the game will feature enemies with tentacles, and female soldiers with double barrelled shotguns.
