So Konami recently filed a European trademark for something called “Harmony of Despair”. Think that sounds like a Castlevania game? So does the rest of the internet.
We can totally see Harmony of Despair snuggling up with Aria of Sorrow and Lament of Innocence, and all of them doing a lot of crying or something.
Anyway, now a mysterious “trusted source” over at Joystiq is claiming it’s a 2D XBLA title, featuring not two, not three, not four, not five, but six-player co-op. That’s a lot of co-op. And it’s also apparently a Metroid-style (so, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night-style) scroller, packing a bunch of characters from recent Castlevania games.
Konami’s not yet released any official comment on the rumour, and with E3 coming up next month, they might just hang onto it until then.
