Earlier today, a VGChartz writer asked the question, “How is it that Russian magazines always get there first?”

Well, one sure way to get hold of information that no one else has, is to make it up.

Basically, they claimed the following:

1. GoW 3 will be the last of the trilogy, although there will be more Gears of War in another form.

2. GoW 3 will be set a year and a half after the sinking of the Jacinto, which you will remember if you finished GoW 2. Sparsely populated human colonies exist on abandoned air craft carriers. Marcus Fenix and Dom are holed up in a carrier settlement called Raven’s Nest.

3. Marcus and Dom must protect a supply of tomatoes on board.

4. Marcus has to find his father, Adam Fenix, as he knows how to save Sera. 

5. Game difficulty will be lowered, as only 60% of gamers finished GoW 2 as it was too hard.

6. Multiplayer difficulty will somehow be increased.

Cliff Blezinski later tweated the following:

“Please don’t trust badly translated leaked scanned info on Gears 3. Lots of false info out there.”

Is there some truth to the magazine’s claims? Are they completely made up, or where they, as Cliffy B. put it, just badly translated?
