Alan Wake “The Signal” DLC creeping up behind you in July

19 May 2010

I’m still on a bit of an Alan Wake trip just now, and if you’ve not yet read my review, you should probably do that before something bad happens. In the meantime, though, Remedy Entertainment has tagged previously announced DLC add-on, “The Signal”, for a 27 July release. That’s practically forever away, sadface sadface sadface.

What they’re not yet doing, however, is telling anyone what it’s actually about.

“The game add-ons aren’t telling more of the story, so to speak,” says Oskari Hakkinen, Remedy’s head of franchise development in a recent interview with CVG. “It’ll give you a different perspective on the things you’ve done on season one and then trying to set you up for the possible things you’re going to do in season two.”

My guess? That creepy FBI agent. What’s his story, anyway?

For everyone everywhere else in the Real World, the add-on comes free in the form of a one-time token shipped with all new copies of the game. Of course, this token was nerfed from all South African game boxes, apparently as a courtesy to customers since we don’t officially have LIVE here and might be confused and angry by a bunch of numbers and letters printed on a piece of paper. Thanks, guys. No Marketplace price has been confirmed yet.
