Xbox Stealth Kinect Bundle revealed

5 July 2010

Some photos have bubbled to the surface of Microsoft’s planned Xbox 360 “Stealth” + Kinect bundle, which features the recently revealed Xbox 360 “Stealth” console, as well as Microsoft’s forthcoming motion detection device.

Games featured in the bundle include Kinectimals, Kinect Adventures, Kinect Sports and Kinect Joyride.

The new Xbox 360 is already available in the US, and goes on sale in the UK on July 16. Microsoft SA has been unable to give us an official release date for the console locally, but we are told that it will cost the same in SA as the current Xbox 360 Elite.

The purple boxart was an interesting choice, and differentiates the Kinect brand from the Xbox 360 umbrella. I’m not sure I like it though, and as Kotaku pointed out it looks more like the packaging form an industrial cleaning device than something that plays games.

This art work is not necessarily final, so may change before release.

Kinect is expected to a get a simultaneous global release around November this year.

I was not particularly impressed with my hands on session with Kinect at E3, and I have a feeling that gamers will be disappointed with it. I would love to be proved from later this year however.
