Reporting directly from Rumoursville, The Internet, Fudzilla claims that there are “whispers in the shadows” regarding an incoming Xbox 360 price cut of $50.
Apparently thanks to the newly refurbished Xbox 360 S console, Microsoft’s manufacturing costs are lower than ever, giving them room to bring the price down a notch. This makes sense, and it also makes sense that they would hold off on the price cut for the first few months following Xbox 360 S launch due to high demand.
As soon as the sales surge is over, Microsoft would do well to hack $50 off the retail price and move in for the kill.
The $50 price cut will reportedly affect both the 4GB and higher end Xbox 360, and is likely to be implemented as early as E3 (June) 2011.
The Kinect price is also expected to come down. Amen to that.
