Forza 6 is coming, and it has the new Ford GT

13 January 2015

Just one day after it’s real-world reveal, Ford’s sexy new-look GT will not only be featured in Forza 6, but it’s going to be the game’s poster child.

Microsoft announced today that the world will be getting Forza 6, exclusively on Xbox One.

Alongside the new Ford GT, the game will also feature the also-just-revealed Shelby GT350 Mustang and the F-150 Raptor.

“Just as Ford has pushed the boundaries of car technology in GT, Forza Motorsport 6 will embrace that spirit of innovation as our most technically advanced racing simulation to date,” said Dan Greenawalt, creative director at Turn 10 Studios.

Gameplay is expected to be shown off at E3 2015.

You can check out the brief reveal trailer below, which shows off the Ford GT in real world, and (apparently) in-engine glory. To be honest, I can barely tell the difference.

Forza has come a long way from the days of “Gran Turismo for the Xbox”, having become a whole beast of a series on its own.

Forza developers Turn 10 Studios manage to pump out a new title every 2 years or so (not including the Forza Horizon ‘spin-off’), while GT developers Polyphony Digital don’t really stick to any sort of predictable schedule.

Of course, the comparisons between the two games will always be there, and with GT7 confirmed for a rather vague 2015/2016 release, they’re unlikely to stop any time soon.

So which console exclusive is the best for motorheads with a penchant for pixellated eye-gasms? Well, here’s a quick side-by-side Metacritic comparison for the titles since Forza’s debut in 2005.

Forza eats GT for breakfast. Polyphony really lost the plot.
