Many Halo 3 players bemoaned the fact that there was no multiplayer campaign matchmaking service. This meant that if anyone wanted to blaze a trail through the campaign with another human for company, it had to be someone from their friends list.
Bungie has rectified this oversight, confirming through their blog that there will be a multiplayer campaign matchmaking service in Halo: Reach. Now everyone can find a random stranger/fellow Halo player with whom they can tear apart the Covenant.
Last week Bungie released some footage at Gamescom 2010 which showed off the game’s opening cinematic and a good few minutes of gameplay action. Anyone anticipating the title should check it out.
Halo: Reach is set as a prequel to the events of the original Halo: Combat Evolved. There will be a whole new set of characters and heroes to become familiar with, as Master Chief has yet to make his mark.
Halo: Reach is scheduled for release on 14 September 2010.
