4A Games’ Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light are easily some of our favourite modern shooters, if not of all time.
They ooze atmosphere out of their every orifice; they’re incredibly fulfilling to play through and eventually complete; provide a good challenge; and tell a narrative well worth diving into.
It’s for that reason, older titles or not, along with the inclusion of Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes that this is perhaps one of the best Games with Gold months yet.
Games with Gold has a long way to go if it’s to match PlayStation Plus’ offering, but Microsoft are certainly getting there.
For those who would like to know who gets what:
Xbox One
* Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes ($19.99 ERP) Available from August 1-31
* How to Survive: Storm Warning Edition ($19.99 ERP) Available from August 16-September 15
Xbox 360
* Metro 2033 ($19.99 ERP) Available from August 1-15
* Metro: Last Light ($19.99 ERP) Available from August 16-31
How to Survive: Storm Warning Edition is definitely the weakest of the titles on offer, but it really doesn’t matter all that much.
