Boost Xbox One streaming quality

With Windows 10 and Xbox One, a lot has been brought to the table, especially with the Xbox App which allows games from the Xbox One to be streamed to a PC or laptop of your choosing. Of course, both the console and PC have to be on the same network.

One of the biggest issues that currently plagues streaming via the Xbox App is the quality of the stream.

Many users have experienced low quality visuals when streaming from their Xbox Ones, even on the highest visual setting available to them.

Miraculously, some folks over at Reddit, in the Xbox One subreddit, found a method of making the stream higher quality with a substantial difference.

LazyGamer tested out the method, providing the steps below, and came out with some very promising results.

Firstly, remember to close the Xbox App before you use this method. Here are the steps they followed:

Open File Explorer, copying and pasting this location: C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\Packages\
Then open a folder starting with “Microsoft.XboxApp…”
Following this, open the folder called “LocalState”
Within this folder, right click the file called “userconsoledata” and select “Open With” choosing either WordPad or NotePad
Change the following: “<IsInternalPreview>false</IsInternalPreview>”
into “<IsInternalPreview>true</IsInternalPreview>“.
Finally, open the Xbox App and begin streaming once more. Simply click the the ((o)) button in the top right of the stream window and select “Very High”. You’re now ready to go!

Reports show that this method does, indeed, increase the visual quality of streaming from the Xbox One to a desktop or laptop considerably.

What the method appears to do is remove the restrictions placed on network bandwidth, when the Xbox App streams.

So streaming on “Very High” or “High” with this method could benefit Xbox One gamers greatly if they want to stream.
