Call of Duty: Black Ops bonus Avatar DLC – now in Ladies Edition

11 November 2010

If, like me, you’re a Call of Duty fan AND of a female genital configuration, you might’ve been rather disappointed (read: outraged) to discover that redeeming your preorder or Hardened Edition Xbox Avatar DLC stuff turned up an error:

“This code cannot be redeemed because the item will only fit a male Avatar. Your Avatar is female. You may want to share this code with a friend who has a male Avatar.”

Apparently only guys get rad flight suits for their Avatars, while we have to make do with a crap selection of beige skirts.

Fortunately enough, someone over at Activision HQ looked at a calendar and realised it’s not actually 1930 anymore, and promptly released two reusable female Avatar kit codes to the public. It’s totally a triumph for the women’s liberation movement. Or it might have been if they’d also banhammered all those morons who think saying “Shut up and get back in the kitchen” is clever.

SR 71 Flight Suit: GYVF8-PF7RY-28D7V-VGWV8-CFGRM

Woods outfit: R76BQ-CR3MF-G2TTF-9G36R-BQWJD

I’ve tested both codes, and they worked just fine, although I’ve heard reports that they can’t be redeemed on accounts migrated to the recently launched Xbox LIVE SA. This could simply be because the content is not yet hosted on the local marketplace, however.

(ED – waits for first “shut up and get back in the kitchen comment below)
