According to IGN’s industry spy network, Epic Games is preparing a Kinect-supported Gears of War title reveal for the upcoming Spike TV Video Game Awards on 11 December.
While Microsoft has issued their standard “We can’t comment on rumour or speculation” response to all enquiries, Epic’s own Cliff Blezsinksi has at least confirmed that there’s “No Kinect in Gears of War 3”. Significantly, however, he hasn’t denied anything about some entirely different Gears of War spin-off game featuring the controller-free controller. You are the controller? NOW YOU’RE A CHAINSAW ON AN ASSAULT RIFLE, SOLDIER.VREEEEEEEEEM!
Or maybe it’s a Kinect Adventures clone, featuring members of Delta Squad in a dinghy, jumping over Locust nests and Berserkers in a wild ride through the Hollows, and collecting COG tags. Or a sort of Kinect Sports thing, where you play baseball with frag grenades. Or a Kinectimals-type “My First Ticker”. Actually, I’d totally play that.
