As an aside, I got a quote from my broker for insurance on the car. Instead of the R4 fucking thousand per month that Sanlam and M&F quoted me direct, I get a premium of R1500.

If you insure direct, I can assure you you are paying premiums that are too high.

Haha I remember the day I called outsurance and they charged me more than my car repayment. Went with my dads brokers and they asked me R600 a month.
 
I remember when I bought my car, Outsurance wanted to charge me R1 700pm for insurance. 1. Cos I'm under 25 2. It's a performance vehicle and 3. The car is black

It does. Black and white vehicles are a slightly higher theft risk.

@Waco - if you get a lower premium on a white vehicle, good job. I should find the industry stats, when I have a moment to breathe.

@ Duck - I had the same issue when I bought my ST. Under 25, high performance vehicle. Clean claims history though.

coincidentally i am with a broker of sorts now... im insured by regent and i have a broker with Direct Axis. my insurance cam down from R700 (santam) to R417...

Also, when you buy a new car, if you get a colour other than white, you have to pay extra for the paint job
