Nope I am not missing the point - halloween falls into the same category as xmas, valentines day, secretary day, mothers and fathersday. . .

Oh well they can take my money any day same with Xmas and Vday and most other days like that i have so i enjoy them

See I dont force my beliefs on anyone, I just happen to think its BS, I havent bought an Xmas gift in over 5 years unless its a small child involved, but I refuse to go for the trappings - we might as well then start celebrating things like 4th of july or thanksgiving.

Christmas as a different meaning, so does Easter... that's probably why most people support those holidays :)

the thing about those holidays you mentioned is they have significant meaning to each country same as we have heritage day but things like haloween vday etc aren't specific to a certain country even if it originates from that country

I buy a Christmas gift for anyone present on Christmas day and for everyone who lives in the house with me so thats just my mom and gran (who will come live with my mom and I from next month).

Halloween was a pagan festival for the end of the harvest. Also has christian roots. I have Irish blood so its part of my history.
