Evolve Alpha

Well my download finished this morning - I'll give it a go sometime this evening and check it out. With this being an alpha though, I'm sure we'll get more chance to play it when they do the beta.

I enjoyed the few matches I played, but I have to echo some other sentiments:

- I cannot see how they can charge $60 for the game.
- I know it is alpha, but there needs to be more tying the game together. L4D at least felt like there was some progression in story. I am not keen on the online profile progression.
- It needs a single player part...

I don't have any friends.

That's it! I am removing you from my Steam Friends! We even played together one time! Did that mean nothing to you!?

M5VEE-A0XM9-C9RI7 here's a free key for somebody - first come first serve.

I enjoyed the alpha, but my biggest gripes were:
1) It kept on showing monster tutorial keys to me as if I had an Xbox controller plugged in which it could clearly see I didn't have.
2) Can't access the options menu while in game and you need to quit to the menu to change it. This resulted in my first monster battle being an epic fail. I could not figure out what LT or RT were on my keyboard so I was dead in the water.

Edit: more keys - M5VD9-5PIYA-H7FI5 and M5VD8-V4H4A-M8IR0

I also have a key, but I understand it was only for the weekend that just passed?

It has been extended by a few days, and might be extended again.

I am however quite sure that if you get in on the alpha now you will be able to play whenever there is an open weekend. It costs them $ to issue Steam keys and they wouldn't want to issue new Steam keys with every open weekend...

what an awsum game, it is def worthy of a pre-order.
Gotta play with 5 of my friends and the experience was great, no lag, no weird sh*t happen, execpt that one crash but its was a lol crash.

BTW get the monster before it gets to Lvl 3 , and be careful if someone is a high lvl and gets to play monster.
He then pics the Kraken that just ruins your life.

Just pre-ordered the game

I know this is pc gaming.. but did anyone try it on the xbone? I could never find a game.. [emoji20]

Well I got a chance to play the game a bit on Monday night - landed up being the monster in every game so I haven't experienced what it's like to be one of the hunters.

From the monster's perspective it's pretty tough (at least until you learn a few tricks) - I found myself constantly harried by the hunters and it's bad news if they catch you in the dome at early levels (which feels like it lasts forever!)

But when I hit level 3 in the one game the tables turned and I found myself doing a heck of a lot more damage. Had the satisfaction of wiping out the whole group of hunters one by one in one of the games.

My biggest issue was trying to determine what was going on during the more action-y bits - you get hit but it's difficult to determine where from (even with the help of your smell-o-vision). The other issue, at least from the monster's point of view is that when you use melee attacks you don't have sufficient feedback as to whether or not you're actually hitting anything (hunters or wildlife). It feels rather disassociated from my input to what I saw the monster doing. (This could have been lag related, at least one of the games seemed to be against Americans, from what I heard of their voice-coms after the game had ended)

1. Take out Trapper.

2. Take out the bigger wildlife as they will give you perks (Also hunters can do this to increase, jetpack recharge, run speed, reload speed, etc..)

3."The other issue, at least from the monster's point of view is that when you use melee attacks you don't have sufficient feedback as to whether or not you're actually hitting anything (hunters or wildlife)"
I think you experienced this cause you were playing against internationals, I had about friends so most the game was local and I really had no problem feeding or destroying the hunters.

4.Sneaking is key with monster, you can utterly kill wildlife or hunters, its especially great for hunters during battle as you can grab the hunters and pull them apart.
