The Official "MyGaming" Anime Thread

I'm actually torn between just catching up on the manga, or just watching the anime.

Would love to do both, and would probably in time. Just not sure which to do first.

In the past I've found that I enjoyed the anime more after having read the manga. Feelings?

I've watched up to where they got Chopper, and read the manga up to the Marine HQ siege with Whitebeard.

Spoiler: show
Where they try and save Ace, but he gets executed anyway

Well there is a big twist in the story currently with some new characters appearing after many years, AFAIK the current manga arc is the longest and the anime seems to be doing a bad/good job of pacing it.

Manga would be quicker, they are both good, I read the manga weekly and still watch the show because I find it interesting how they adopt everything from paper to animation. Sometimes things are added or left out completely.

Did I read correctly that there is another naruto manga?

It's a spin off series about the new generation of Ninja's Bolt, Shikadai, Salada and everyone else who got married, shacked up and had kids. I don't think it will be as gripping as Naruto but it should give some closure to long running characters.

yea i agree after they get Franky at water 7 it gets better and better.

Get's even better when the crew is reunited for the first time in 2 years. Zoro and Sanji are still going at it, and Usopp is still be bibi-kun.

Spoiler: show

Is that a city above the stone faces?? Also Kuruma is sleeping but for how long? Probably been in an immense time of peace so he feels no need to do anything but sleep.

There is no "Big 3" and there never was. Bleach, Naruto and One Piece all became popular during the early 2000's anime and manga explosion in the west. Naruto, One Piece and Bleach seemed to bring the most attention due to their shonen nature. Japan simply continued like they always did and the west build the misconception that BNO where the kings of Manga.

That is correct, Akira Toriyama did inspire Kishimoto and Eiichiro Oda but Tite Kubo was inspired by a much earlier artist, Shigeru Mizuki. Eiichiro and Kishimoto's are more based of shounen fantasy, where Kibo's is based on supernatural and dark humor. Toriyama has a lesser influence on Kubo as you can easily see how the antagonists are basically as strong or stronger than the protagonist.

Cell and Goku
Yhwach and Soul King/Ichigo.

*edit*
Since we on Shonen Manga and Bleach, did anyone else notice that Yhawch moustache has been growing since chapter 380~?

Can't say I have. Maybe it's linked to his power growing :D

Does anyone else here following the "Shingeki no Kyojin" manga feel it has fizzled out a bit of late. Feels a bit lacklustre for me at the moment despite the supposed suspense that is occurring now....

I've actually lost interest in new anime series. I've started to rewatch Naruto for the last time, now that I know the ending is in sight (considered picking up the manga where I stopped reading, but there'll be too much stuff I can't remember and a lot won't make sense)

Also rewatching Cowboy Bebop at the moment, then I'm moving on to FMA Brotherhood (which I hear is better than the original series, which I absolutely loved!)

But I probably won't pick up a newish anime series anytime soon. I guess I'm a bit of a vintage fan (stuff we used to watch in our anime club at varsity - good times)
