I want need to upgrade my logitech m210...

Now I'll probably get something from Takealot as I'm planning on getting a few other things there as well..

I'm looking to spend about R500, but I have no idea what to look for, except that I know the more dpi the better, right?

Any suggestions?

More DPI is not better. You want a high enough DPI, but above a certain value, the mouse pointer just moves too fast. I have my mouse at 2000DPI. 3000 is a bit too fast for me, though I'm sure some people might prefer it.

The G400s suggested by Hagan is a really nice mouse, although it is not available from Takealot. Looked through the Takealot catalog but there is nothing I am familiar with.

I've got the steelseries sensei raw. Very very happy with it. My previous mouse was the RAT9

For some reason this BLOPS2 edition is cheaper than the rest: http://www.takealot.com/steelseries...uty-black-ops-ii-gaming-mouse-pc/PLID27896091

The Sensei RAW mice/mouses go for varying prices which kinda stumps me. I bought a friend that BLOPS2 one a year ago and got myself a Guild Wars 2 one a couple of months ago. Only difference between the two is the braided cable on thw BLOPS2 one. Paid R100 more for the GW2 edition, but other editions are roughly 50% more expensive!

Of all the mice I tried I also really like the Steelseries brand. My wife uses one and it's just so smooth and accurate. I currently use a Coolermaster mouse (can't remember exact name) and although it's a good mouse it's not as nice as my wife's Steelseries one. Before that I used a Logitech G9x that started giving problems right after the warranty expired. My second Logitech item to do that so I'm not a fan of Logitech at all.

Logitech G402 (502 if you can afford it) Best Mouse I've had in ages. Getting my G502 soon, so will be selling my G700 and G402 on carbonite soon.

Haha, something I just noticed in Borderlands 2 that I completely forgot to mention, because I forgot about it.

At higher resolutions than 1080p, 2160p for instance, you want a higher DPI setting on your mouse. Since there is a lot more real estate to cover with the same DPI, the mouse pointer moves a lot slower on 2000DPI at 2160p than it does at 1080p.

It is perhaps not that relevant yet, due to 4K screens costing the earth, however with the Nvidia downscaling you can run the game at 2160p downscaled to 1080p, so if you do end up using it, you want more DPI from your mouse. For me, 3000DPI barely cuts it at 4K, and my mouse maxes out at 3200DPI. So that might be something to take into consideration for a new mouse, future proofing in terms of resolution.

@OP, you are in luck!
Takealot is currently running specials on steel series mouses/mice/mousi/mices
