Looking for new ISP

So I'm deciding to leave Mweb for their particularly unreliable speeds and because i keep getting throttled 2 days into a new month. i was on the 2mb uncapped package and i rarely got speeds up to 120kbps. It never reached 200kbps ever!! I have been looking at Open webs 4mb uncapped package. i need advise as to whether they are any good and how it has worked for you? also could anyone recommend any other ISPs which are good:D Thanks

Try out webafrica and crystal web.
Also do you really need uncapped if you don't really need it look into a high capped account.

I've been with OpenWeb since my 384kb line. One thing I've learnt about OpenWeb is this, if you can't afford to go for their uncapped gold account or higher than rather go for a capped option.

I'm on a 4mbps line speed, 100gb and full speeds 24/7.

Alao, it's worth mentioning, their support is spot on, even in the early hours of the morning.

@ Crzwaco yes i actually do need the uncapped. i do download quite a bit and i stream anime.

so you saying that the normal package for 4mb isn't good. I don't really mind if the download speed is shaped during the day. i usually download at night. i want to take advantage of that unshaped option from 12am to 7am.

Ok, then you should be good.

I have a problem with shaping during business hours, but if you aren't concerned then it should be ok.

also another question. will shaped download speed for 4mb be around 100kbps + ?
another thing i normally download about 50gb in a month. so my usage wont be too high to be throttled. i just want good speed since mweb's service was terrible.

that isnt too bad. well i wouldnt know whether that's good or not since all i got with mweb was 100kbps max on 2mb package.
is mweb's 4mb package any good?

Ok i'l be going to an mweb branch to cancel my subscription tomorrow. I've decided to get the 4mb package from open web. thanks guys for the help. much appreciated. i will ask if i need more help. :D:)

Why go to a branch? You can call them to cancel... and then they will send you a form to fill in and email through to them.

Open Web is by FAR the worst ISP i've ever been with. Internet is unusable during business hours, browsing is dead and got extremely high pings. I'd rather look at Webafrica / Crystal Web.

I'm moving from CrystralWeb at the end of the month. I'll go for WebAfrica Business Capped. I'm currently also on 200GB capped and getting shit performance. And when an ISP can't even keep their capped customers happy you know there's issues. Stay away from CW. They're a very new ISP and still have a lot of teething issues to sort out. Maybe in a few months once they pull their head out of their arse I'll try them again because they do seem genuinely sincere in wanting to deliver a quality product.

I've been with Cybersmart for 7 years now, only had one or two real issues during that time.

I'm on the 70GB capped with the 1000GB supersized for the 12AM - 7AM time slot. 2mbps line, don't need more than that.

Had a couple of speed issues the past couple of days, but that seems to be sorted now.

What I tell everybody about Cybersmart - it might be a pain getting a line up and running or moving a line - but from there it should be smooth sailing.

I've recently cancelled all my Openweb accounts, put our company over to a 50Gb Afrihost capped account and for myself, I started using the free 4Mb/s uncapped account from FNB Connect. So far, no issues. For this month, I've done about 102Gb so far. I don't use any torrents though so can't comment on speeds for those.

What ISP would be recommended for a 10meg (or more) uncapped package?

We go through about 150gb atm, but that is because we have that capped limit :/
I would like to do some livestreaming, and dont want serious shaping.

Fibre could also be an option.
