Woo! Load shedding, woo!

You know I was talking with a friend while sitting in the dark. He reckons its probably a lot worse than what they say it is. This might cripple the economy.
 
It's crazy. If restaurants or fast food outlets have to go without electricity for 5+ hours a day on a Saturday, that's a lot of money lost.

I'm just so tired of living in a country that could have been first-world if the ANC didn't come fuck it up.

yip. Could of been a shit tone better than what it is now. So glad I am leaving this behind. My friend heard this is going to last till 2017. You know how many places are going to go bankrupt.
 
it is going to get a log worse before it gets better, but be happy the ceo still got their R20m bonus...

...obviously not performance based
 
For those hanging around long term - you can get some pretty wicked gas cooking gear at the farming co-ops.

e.g. My dad bought a big potjie. The cadac gas gear that fit for that is round the 1.5k mark...ended up buying something like this for 200 bucks - potjie fits and so do pans etc

Obviously not suitable for indoor use...needs a well ventilated area.

Farming co-ops are pretty cool...got some nice gear there for a reasonable price and the staff tends to be competent.

Odd, work never went off today, gateway area. La lucia was off today though so igot no idea anymore lol, take it as it comes.
 
It's sad when you get all happy when the power comes back on at 21:20 instead of 22:00.... It shouldn't be going off at ALL!
 
Well apparently there won't be load shedding today...but who really knows...I don't think even Eskom knows.

My friend.. I could not have said it better myself.

In 2007, one didn't even know "load shedding" would exist, now it's too common.

Well its still not as bad as it was in 2008...couple of days we were without power for 8 hours at a time.
That said...Eskom can still fuck it up even more.
 
Im actually kinda hoping for a total black out so i can switch my servers off and take a few days off with relaxation :D

Eh well it was because of that time we installed a solar geyser that doesn't use electricity from the grid, full on 6 plate gas stove and a 8.5kva Generator.

What happened? They hire new staff that don't know their ass from their face?
Something must have happened over there for their service to take such a nose dive into the ground.

I honestly can't remember...pretty similar situation to what we have now.
The really worrying thing is this is happening during the time of year we use the lowest amount of our grids power...I don't know how they'll cope with Winter 2015...
