Simple solution; what I did was, don't get the game(s)! The only other PS+ free game I can see myself getting is that Second Son one in January. Otherwise your backlog ends up being what it is on Steam.

Exactly why I don't anymore. Same with the Humble Bundles. I used to buy them religiously along with Steam Specials. I have forced myself not to succumb into this behavior, and as such forces me to now finish/play games that I have actually paid top dollar for.
