Windows 7, 8 and 8.1 get free upgrades to 10 for first year

Sounds VERY good to me! I love Windows 8.1, despite the tones of hatred it receives. I'm sure I'll love Windows 10 even more, especially since I'll be receiving it for free.

Yeah I'm looking forward to 10 too. Glad Windows 7 users get the upgrade as well.

Geez. I'm finding it so hard to be happy about this:-

1) You tell us pc gaming is dead. But now steam is making money your like omg.
2) We know you microsoft, your going to pull a douche move with this one, wether its forcing us to use something or pay for Xbox live.
3) You are not telling us something, either your gunna wait till everyone has ported then switch on some crap to make life terrible(e.g. 8.1).
 
what MS is doing makes sense though, Windows 10 will integrate nicely with the XBOne and Windows 10 phones. They are aiming for a singular cohesive experience across devices. Universal apps will be another game changer MS Office is now being bundled with Windows 10 phones and will have the same interface and experience as the desktop app. OneDrive integration will start playing a larger role across your devices. Then there is DX12 and some other enhancements on the gaming front.

There are quite a number more little fixes, updates, features and enhancements. Far too many to mention, plus I'm bound by a MS NDA so I cannot expand on everything they have outlined in the upcoming releases.
 
It looks like a hybrid between 7 and 8, with additional features, simplifying and improving the Windows experience.

I am keen on trying out this new OS.
 
Saw this this morning and was liek \:D/
Awwww yeah!

First I got Win8 at a awesome price(R350 when it was first released) and now I get Win10 as a free upgrade.

Also not sure what people's gripe is with Win8.1, I would never go back to Win7.

Not a big fan of the app-based interface; prefer the traditional Windows layout.
