Woo! Load shedding, woo!

Jis dude that sucks!!! Luckily our power came on an hour before the rugby. I'm sure they'll show the game again. Was a bit boring game. Was quite standard northen hemisphere style rugby, but the Sharks are looking sharper than expected.

I know this is a bit off topic for the thread, but where did you watch the game? I tried both SuperSport's website and another site I use for sport streaming, neither of which had this game available to stream.

Watched the game on SuperSport 1, channel 201 on DSTV. They aired it a bit late, the game only kicked-off at 22:00

Our power was out last night from 6 until 10:15. Then I watched the rest of the rugby. This morning I come to work and bam power goes out. So no power here either. Then tonight we haven't got power at home from 6 until 10:30 again.

Then this weekend we won't have any water for 25 hours.

We are truly back in the dark ages.

We were loadshed on Wednesday from 14h45 to 18h15 for the first time since November. So upon hearing it would be level 3 yesterday I got my new generator out, tested it to make sure it works ok and then they don't load shed us. Also doesn't help that there are three different schedules floating around for my town, so we never know which one to follow.

Ah oky, I thought I saw 21:00 somewhere as the time for the game, so I looked for the game around that time, so perhaps I just missed it, silly eyes. I went to sleep at 22:00 anyhow, but thought I could catch a little bit of the game.

Build up for match was at 9 game was at 10

Power went out here at work 10am, have a huge UPS system that powers 200+ employees backedup by 3 Diesel generators.

Really wish these "backups" could fail.

Yeah 3 big daddies.

The UPS is basically just there until the generators kick in after the power goes out. People here are very paranoid as we have thousands of clients connected to our server. Micro-lenders and Capitec doing credit checks through us. :)

Geez, you guys are lucky. I have 1 generator here, and its used in another building. Now we have a specific need for it one day a week if we get load shed, and we'll have to bring it up and down between buildings for one day a week.

Wish we had a budget :|

At this rate I think the time has come to get one at home...

Also, any sales people for genie's on MG ? Need to find some good ones for clients.

Joker how do you connect your generator to your house? Just plug a lead from the generator into a wall socket? Or did you connect up to the mains?
Also, do you run your PC directly from the generator, or do you have a UPS or something to smooth out the frequency & voltage?

Ours is plugged into a socket and it runs most of the things, but we turn stuff off like the geyser and freezer and so on.
