Saw a friend off at the airport last night, who is moving to Germany, her husband already left last month to start his new job. Very sad saying goodbye to people. And their kid is exactly a month older than our kid, and they love each other so much :-(

Sad indeed, however it is better for the future of the kid. They do not have any future in SA and with all these political issues and loadshedding more and more people are moving overseas
 
I also had to say goodbye to my best friend of 10 years on Sunday as she moved to the UK. Sad indeed but I'd do it too if I could.
 
Yea always sad but if you have the opportunity to get out of the country comfortably I would do it.

I love SA but for now we need to earn a real currency.

Good luck. I know how tough the job market is right now. Son just completed matric and daughter, employed but looking for better employment.

My company might be closing down, at the most they just need me once a week in the evening to do the basics.

My dad recently moved to Dubai! not the most beautiful country in the world. But they are soo rich, its safe and you don't pay income tax!
Would prefer going over to the states if I get an opportunity, but looking at Dubai the the moment.
Our country is soo beautiful, but where do you draw the line about how much crap you have to take?

There are only a handful of countries I would willingly relocate to, they are (in some order):

- USA (excluding Alaska & Hawaii)
- Australia
- New Zealand
- Canada
- Germany
- Netherlands
- Belgium
- UK (including Ireland, Scotland and Wales)

My no-go to stay list is:

- Any South American country South of Mexico
- Any African country north of South Africa
- Eastern Europe
- Anywhere in the middle east
- Large parts of Russia
- The whole of Asia
(Yes pretty much anywhere that is not on my preferred list)

Yeah my parents moved to Singapore last year March, when to visit over christmas and dam that place runs well, everything is clean and modern, public transport system is amazing. Its REALLY expensive if you don't earn their dollar though.

Just don't be a drinker or a smoker else you'll be bankrupt soon; Also if you enjoy chewing gum you're screwed in Singapore.
 
Man, just shows you ....... you can leave for like a year and come back and the same bullshit is going on, almost the same convos, etc etc, lol.

..... like sands through the hourglass :D

Mostly the same although I would also love to go to Switzerland if I had the chance as I like the mountains and scenery there although it is pricy.
