Dying Light Opinions and Release Date

i must be honest - very keen but cant really say why, maybe any thing to kill zombies

Can't go wrong with it, the game is a ton of fun and it keeps getting better and better.
My weapons are all around the 900Dmg mark at the moment...zombies just melt, love charging into massive packs of them and just laying them out, even going out at night is a ton of fun now, not so scared of volatiles anymore :D

I really love that sense of progression in games, where in the beginning things seem really difficult to kill and over time you become stronger and they seem to go down so much easier. It really makes you feel like you have gotten stronger.

That is exactly how this game makes you feel, in fact I can't remember when a game gave me this sense of becoming 1 mean killing machine. With the new hard difficulty launching soon I can't wait to get stuck into packs of 30-40+ zombies.

They did a damn good job with this game, there were some bugs when it launched but considering the train wrecks we got last year t launch this game has had very few issues...so well done Techland.

Awesome, can't wait to get this, waiting for the 25th to come around though :P

Will hopefully find some type of special around the internet also.

Oh, while sitting in Spur having milkshakes with my boy (though he was in the play area more than anything), I discovered and started playing around with the Dying Light companion app. Just mentioning it, dunno if you guys knew or not.

Update 1.4 is out!

Most notably is the support for modded games, modded games running online and other performance improvements. You can also remove the film grain now.
oooh thats nice. I was using the dying light mod manager thing to remove that crap so i can actually SEE the game prettiness. Will check it out. Performance improvements are also always welcome!

Downloaded the patch now amd quickly checked it out. I honestly don't see the difference with film grain off. I did, however, notice a slight increase (about 5 - 10FPS) in performance. My crappy PC is not doing too bad on medium settings.

Well I've stopped playing for now, I'll play again when hard mode and the new content becomes available.

All I can say is well done Techland, epic support for the game.

So the whole "anti-modding" thing was a big misunderstanding? Or do you guys think they TRIED to stifle it (cease and desist orders are rather serious), saw the backlash and then corrected themselves... Both I guess are ok, since they at least realised they were wrong and corrected the behaviour. win for consumers :)

Neah the reaspn they did it was because of the guys cheating in multiplayer, modding weapons that do a 1000dmg and then giving it to lvl 1 players. They did however over react but now that's been sorted out, can't wait for some more graphics mods and new weapon mods to come out :D

Where can i get guns damn.I know its mostly a melee game and guns will attract zombies,Ive been playing a while without finding a gun anywhere lol.

Don't worry, neither have I found any. Seem to come later on in the story, cos I been playing for about 20hours (give or take).

shit sakes... 1...more.... week!!

I have forewarned my wife that next Friday night is zombie bashing night. Flip cant wait!

How big are these patches atm and is there a way I could download/pre-load the game in steam?

What I've done in the past (with mild success) is to take one of the famous "demo" versions of the game, install it, don't add the buttcrack, and then pop it into the steamApps folder where your other games are. Once you have the game in your library in the steam client, you just install as usual. Steam will verify most if not all of the files, and start downloading the remainder, and it'll definitely help a little.

Only on 1 occasion did it not verify at least 25% of a game.

Yeah, this method has worked rather well for me in the past. It also worked for Dying Light. After copying the files to the steam folder I only had to download something like 200MB.
