Pre-ordered The Order: 1886? You probably shouldn't

Lol; brainfart. Yeah I meant Ground Zeroes.

I think the game was adequately priced for the play you got out of it. And the fact that the game itself is pretty good

How much did you pay for it? The original launch price was $40, which I really don't think you can say, objectively, is value for money.

Perhaps not original launch price which, although still $20 cheaper than standard launch, was still rather pricey. I got it for 300 after a while.

But my point is that it's a step in the correct direction to price something substantially lower than the standard when you aware that the product you want to deliver doesn't have a wealth of content that would satisfy the consumer.

The idea has been planted and the precedent set I think

Personally, if I had paid anything more than R200 I would've felt ripped off.

I get what you're saying, although I think Ground Zeroes is a bad example. Something like FC3: Blood Dragon would have been a much better example of that, in the AAA scene. And well, as I'm sure you're aware, Indie games do this all the time. The average price of an Indie is $15, compared to the average AAA of $60.

Blood Dragon wasn't made to be serious lol. But you get the gist of it.

Indie market is a different beast altogether. I don't think comparing the 2 is an equitable argument in terms of pricing for new releases. My primary thing is that it is indeed ridiculous to expect $60 for every brand new game . blood dragon and ground zeroes showed that carrying the AAA standard doesn't have to equate to carrying the AAA pricing scheme.
