Post your tattoos

Hey guys,

So I noticed there isn't a thread for guys on MyG who have tattoos, or who want tattoos, so I figured I'd start it.

I'm currently getting a full sleeve on my left arm, and I know ClockworkNinja is currently busy with his sleeve as well. Would love to know if any other members have tattoos or are interested in getting.

If anyone has any questions about getting a tattoo or how to maintain one, you can always post here.

Here is mine currently. The pictures were both taken right after it was done, so you'll still see stencil marks and fresh shading which does fade:

That looks great DuckKnuckle!

I don't have any tattoos myself but Pippa Tshabalala is in my opinion one of the the most beautiful women in South Africa and every time I see her she has more tattoos:

Wow.

*edit*
Yours looks great too Talentloos! You posted while I was searching for a pic of Pippa. :)

blaaislaai awesome dude what are you getting?
Talentloos that's looks great man. Really digging the shading!
Solitude drool. That chick is hot man.

Yeah still healing at the moment and the mirror was filthy. Will update again when its done healing. Well technically that was my second one. The first one i dont really count as a real tattoo. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1424619875.262719.jpg

That one was because i love my guitar.

You going for a full sleeve?

My father recently had a tattoo done which incorporated my sister's guitar playing and my drumming.

The two music notes that are actually J's represent mine and my sister's first names.

DuckKnuckle It will be my first tattoo, so I'm doing "Since 1988" on my inner bicep, which is my birthdate.

Awesome thread! And very awesome ink DuckKnuckle. I really dig your dad's ink as well, good stuff!

Here's what I have (so far):

I have plans for a lot more, but I never get around to actually start saving for them. After I get Witcher 3 I actually wanna spend less money on games and start working on my ink, but I'm planning (hoping) to get another, smaller one before then as well.

Want to get these on the fingers on my right hand (just the signs, not the text):

Also planning to get either Krieg or Claptrap above the BL logo on my left arm, but I can't make a decision between the two yet. Want to do a whole gaming sleeve on my left arm eventually with art from some of my favourite games.

Wlad I'm digging the skull and BL logo dude. I think a gaming sleeve would look badass. Personally, I'd go Krieg as that would fall into a sleeve really well.

Yeah, I'll probably go the Krieg route when I eventually get around to doing it. Also want to fit the Hyperion Moon Base in there as well. Will maybe find another spot for Claptrap and one or two of the other BL characters. The problem is just that there are so many good ones to choose from.

Man, talking about it makes me want to go get it done tomorrow, lol.

How do you guys normally go around deciding? That is the hardest part for me. I want to get many more but i never have any idea. Thats why with the headstock one i got, i just told the artist to go mad. So now i need to decide what the next one must be. Its like a disease.

Solitude, I know why it took you so long to "find" a picture of Pippa :p

I have a few questions as someone whose always wanted to get some tattoos.

 • Do any of you guys have recommended places in SA?
 • From "cheap as chips" to "you'd better sell your kidney", how much are we looking at here? Like most things in life, I'm assuming the more you put in, the better the end result will be.
 • I've heard that it hurts like a b**ch. Fact or fiction?

I spent 4 years chopping and changing my tattoo idea in my head. Then, last year when I was finally happy with what I had come up with, I met up with my artist and he sat down with me and we altered it to fit my arm and we made a few changes here and there.

Did you guys design them yourselves or how did you come about the designs?
Reason I ask is I am wanting to get one, but I need some help in the design of it.

The_Imp_ZA

The pricing usually depends on a lot of factors such as level of detail, size, location as well the artist themselves. Most of mine were free though (had a friend who wanted someone to practice on), only paid for the Witcher and Borderlands logo's and they were about R400 each.

Depending on where you get it done it can be anything from a slight annoyance to extreme pain. Worst for me so far was the colouring on my wrists as well as on my elbow and the bone along my arm. The elbow probably takes it though as I had to tell me friend to stop and change the design a bit (it was originaly supposed to go a bit higher with the two sides connecting, but I couldn't take the pain anymore).

EDIT: BeoTeK

I usually pick what I want then ask a friend who's not bad at drawing (or my tattoo artist) to redraw it/change it up a bit. The BL logo I just found on Google on told my artist to choose colours he thought would work. The skull and the writing (and design next to it) was drawn by the friend who did those. I also have another design on the other side of my arm that doesn't look too good to me (hence no pics of it) that was done after myself and the artist got really intoxicated when I got my degree. I've gotten used to it though.
