Did you guys design them yourselves or how did you come about the designs?
Reason I ask is I am wanting to get one, but I need some help in the design of it.
Well my sleeve is based on Greek Mythology. You also need to remember that tattooing on an arm is not like drawing on paper. Your skin is a completely different canvas and everything needs to be taken into account. On my sleeve, all the faces are placed in different areas which are considered panels. We couldn't just draw a design on paper and wrap it around. You can come up with rough work but then the artist needs to actually sit with you and map it out on you.
I've got Helios at the top. He's the God of the sun who rides a chariot across the night sky and his hair is golden which illuminates the sky. I couldn't fit a chariot with horses on my arm so my artist and I found some pictures off google that closely resembled what I wanted and we patched it together and added our own small touches.
Next on my inner bicep I have Zeus. Simple picture of Zeus but his eyes will look stormy (like Raiden from Mortal Kombat) and around Zeus will stormy clouds which will flow around the horses as Helios rides in the sky.
Zeus' beard will then flow into waves and turns into the hair of Poseidon who is sitting on my inner forearm. Below Poseidon, on my wrist, will be waves crashing towards my outer forearm.
That brings us to Hades. There will be magma and molten rock around him and the gap between the back of Poseidon and the side of Hades will be steam from the waves and magma colliding. This steam will flow up and turn into the clouds on the top half of my arm as well.
All of this needed to be considered and planned out with my design. Half of these ideas were from my artist as well as he knows how to work with your arm or body and make the most of the area.
