Official Battlefield 4 Thread

You should try and drop everything to low and see if it improves even more. That might be an indication as to what the problem could be.
Runs the same on low.

There's no stuttering if I play in DX11, but the game runs the same on medium low and high.

Runs most comfortably on medium.

I'm not sure if there is an equivalent setting in AMD, but this had me tearing my hair out until I had an GPU app open (Gigabyte Guru) showing me my GPU (GeForce GTX 760) was doing absolutely nothing while playing BF4 and certain other games. I had to change the setting to Max performance while playing a game. Like I said, not just BF4, but certain other games as well. Once I had this set to max performance, it worked much better.

Guys tbh 8gb of ram just isn't enough for BF4 i experienced it, use msi afterburner and use the overlay and switc on the on screen display for mem and ram usage, and you will see as soon as it goes over 6gb you start having problems and the dude that unparked his spu tell him to fix that BF doesn't like it

Have to disagree with the RAM usage.
BF4 runs without a hitch on 8GBs of RAM in my system.
Runs smooth with monitoring tool showing usage around 6.5GB of RAM with game running.

What Cronus086 mentioned could be true... HDD speed.
Hagan, are you using HDD or SSD?

Might have to tell my bud to upgrade :p

500GB WD (Blue) HDD @7200RPM, IIRC.

I have seen more Blue Screens with Battlefield 4 in a week, than I have in my lifetime (thus far) of all my PCs combined.
Jesus, this game is terrible on little RAM.

Edit: Swapped RAM modules to see if anything changes.

Had a great showdown against DuckKnuckle last evening.

Damn team scramble, we would've won if we joined forces :p

Hagan, seems like my bud suffering from a different set of problems.
He played (suffered) through 2 chapters of single player without blue screen, only with stuttering.
He's using a 7200rpm 1tb HDD.

I don't get stuttering anymore, except for initial loading the first few minutes.
I think I get those BSoD (Blue Screen(s) of Death) due to the memory not being able to dump fast enough.

I currently play @ 1080p on Medium, with anti-aliasing and post-processing turned off and a 90 or 95 degree FoV. Will upload a screenshot later.

Game runs solid @ 60FPS on a resolution of 1360x768 all High, so what happens transitioning from one map to the next that causes crashing.

I'm very confused! :confused::mad::(

Anyone else getting bad crashes all of a sudden after the latest updates? For some odd reason, Battlefield just "stopped working" from time to time, and it lasts for about an hour, then is just disappears, and allows me to play on. Any ideas?

What is your system's specs? I more often than not crash at every rotation.
Many people are complaining of game crashes after new patch.

Edit: I should also mention that quitting and rotation causes my game to crash to the "has stopped working" message state.

What you can try if it crashes between maps is to alt tab your game and leave it there till the actual map starts and then maximize your game i have read that this helps with the mem leak issue

Over the past few days I'd been using the AUG over the SAR 21. On paper it looks like it (the AUG) should be better than (SAR 21), but to my surprise, it is surprisingly weaker. :wtf:

Used to be one of the go-to bullpups in BF3.

Play with the Ace 23, AEK or Famas. Best assault rifles in the game by far.
